A Family of Giver's

Mak MaMa’s Coney Cafe, is not only a restaurant but a “community initiative” to help feed the food insecure among us. We pride ourselves on being of service to others right in our own community by adopting good practices of giving back in the same community that supports us. We host ‘Walk-Out Wednesday’s” to take a variety of hot food items from our menu out to feed the homeless in our community free of charge. We are also honored to partner with all our first responders and front line workers and offer daily discounts to medical workers, educators, police officers, firefighters, and service workers in addition to offering them “TWO for Tuesday’s. We also offer them free drinks on “Thirsty Thursday’s” with a food purchase. When we have job openings we work with the homeless population among us to first offer them the open positions to help them get off the streets, make their own money, and become the next group of “community builders and givers”, because it’s important to always help the less fortunate right among us. Each and every one of us could be one meal away from food insecurity and/or one paycheck away from homelessness.

Mak MaMa’s Coney Cafe is owned by Mak Pearson. She have been cooking for generations and remember and incorporate the many culinary teachings of her beloved Mother Sharon who’s lovingly known as Ma Ma, Big Ma and Ma (“G”) in the kitchen.

About Our Company

Mak MaMa’s Coney Cafe was founded in 2018 by Mak Pearson and Sharon Pearson. Daughter and Mother both was born and raised in Michigan and loved enjoying the many great selections of comfort foods at their neighborhood Coney Island restaurants. A favorite being American Coney Island, a staple, in Downtown Detroit for almost 100 years! After relocating to Central Texas, they decided Killeen, Texas would be home to their very first Mak MaMa’s Coney Cafe. To bring the remembrance of the beloved authentic favorites that Coney Island offers to the people that may be from states like Michigan, Ohio, and even New York where’s there’s a Coney Island restaurant on almost every corner. Also, to introduce these beloved comfort foods to the watering mouths of the ones unfamiliar and ready to explore and explode their tastebuds! This family duo is proud to share their passion of cooking, and love of people with the whole community.

Come enjoy a juicy, hand crafted, never frozen burger, or the snap of a mouth savoring coney dog with authentic made chili! How about a loose burger of seasoned beef, authentic chili, mustard, and onions? Maybe, some crispy, perfectly seasoned wing dings, with an order of chili fries topped with white cheddar cheese.
